Cure for diabetic foot ulcers?

An artificial protein called COMP-Ang1 developed by korean scientists might help in healing diabetic foot ulcers.  Tests conducted on mice restored damaged blood vessels and healed the wounds in 1-2 months.  The protein improves blood flow and facilitates skin growth.  Foot ulcers are dangerous because they could lead to amputation.
