Drug from Takeda approved by FDA
ACTOS® (pioglitazone) and metformin are two widely used diabetes medications. These medications help diabetics manage their plasma glucose levels. A drug called Actoplus Met combines these two medications into a single tablet. This drug has been developed by the U.S Research and Development unit of Takeda Pharmaceutical company limited of Japan and has been approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The drug will be launched in the U.S in october.
