Ignorance And Diabetes
Here is how it went down…
Ms. Ignorant- Oh, you’re diabetic. My Dad died of diabetes. (y’all know how I feel about that statement)
Me- Oh, that’s a shame. I am sorry. He must have had complications. I have type 2 diabetes, I just eat right and exercise and have been fairly lucky so far.
Ms. Ignorant- Oh, you eat right. You are a little on the big side, if you lost weight you would probably stop being diabetic. (I am a very athletic and strong size 14 and always have been. I have been an athlete my whole life and can still bench press some men under the table)
Me- Uh huh. I do eat healthy. I have been built big and strong my whole life. I am fairly good when it comes to my diet. And you know, you can’t just do away with diabetes. You can control it though (thinking what a dumb a#$ she is)
Ms. Ignorant- Yeah, most people that I meet with diabetes are fat or overweight, I am lucky that I am very thin and lean. I don’t have anything to worry about. (um-huh)
Me- (speaking very low) Sometimes it is a lost cause.
Ms. Ignorant- What did you say?
Me- Oh nothing. Have a good day, I need to get going. (walking away and rolling my BIG FAT eyes, hahahaha)
Oh boy. I guess ignorance is bliss for some people. And by the way, Ms. Ignorant wears her leotard and leggings to pick her kid up from pre-school. I mean honestly!! Get a pair of sweats…

It is so nice not to be her, isn’t it? Just think how exhausted she must be carrying around all that negative energy, what a chore!
