Impact of sleep on developing type 2 diabetes
Sleeping too much or too little could increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, according to a recent study. The study was conducted on more than 1,100 men over a period of 15 years. The risk of diabetes in men who sleep 6 hours or less is two times more than in men who sleep between 7-8 hours every night. Similarly, the risk is three times more in men who sleep for more than 8 hours. The study appears in the March issue of Diabetes Care.
