Legislature Proposes A Bill For Diabetes Prevention And Treatment
According to Senator Clinton, “With a payment system that rewards treatments for complications, but not the low-cost prevention initiatives that could stop such complications from occurring, our healthcare system is ill-equipped to handle the growing prevalence of diabetes. This legislation is the first step in establishing the important diabetes prevention and disease management initiatives necessary to meet the needs of the more than 60 million people living with diabetes or who are at risk for developing diabetes.”
If my father taught me one thing it is to not talk politics. And I don’t. However this proposed bill would increase funding for the Center’s of disease control and Prevention and CDC, which hasn’t happened over the last 4 years. And when you look at what has happened with the diabetes epidemic over the last 4 years, it is a no brainer!
This would help fund research and integrate practical ways to treat diabetes from the lab to the “real” world. Whether you like Hillary or not, I think this is a proposal worth supporting, don’t you?
