Living Right With Diabetes Doesn’t Have To Feel So Lonely
Building upon my last post, I really enjoyed this little article that I found in a Prevention magazine…
Flipping through the pages, I came upon a personal journal that reflected on a particular ladies journey from diagnosis to treatment to management of diabetes. It was a great take on her situation and was very real and honest. I enjoyed reading the story and decided to share an excerpt…
“So here is the perfect ending to the story: I’m joining Weight Watchers, and I’ve started swimming at the YMCA… Now here’s the real ending: Every day, I get up and hope to God that I just do one of those things. And every 3 months I see my chief mechanic, my wonderful endocrinologist, who adjusts my meds, gives me encouragement, and sends me back on the road- This is the best I can do at living right so my disease doesn’t kill me- while living well so mt disease doesn’t steal everything I love about my life…“
I think that about sums it up, don’t you? It’s nice when you can relate to others and feel what they are going through, you don’t feel so isolated. I encourage any of y’all out there that wants to share their thoughts or stories to contact me. It’s great to get different takes on the same ol’ diabetes!
