This post has nothing to do with diabetes.

So here’s a cautionary tale for those of you out there who think that being a paid smartass might be a career move you’d like to explore.
A few months ago, I posted about a study linking decaf and a reduced risk of diabetes for some women. I ended with a cute little remark:
Roopinder Brar, Care Advisor for Diabetes UK, sounds a note of caution, however.
“The results of this study are interesting, however, more research needs to be done to determine which ingredient of de-caffeinated coffee may be responsible for a reduced diabetes risk,” says Brar. “Drinking more than six cups of coffee a day could have other, less beneficial side effects, for example, causing dehydration. If people really want to reduce the risk of developing diabetes then regular exercise and a healthy diet have been shown to be a much safer and reliable bet.”
As a side note, I could write fiction for a hundred years and never come up with a character name as perfect as “Roopinder Brar”. Well played, Mama and Papa Brar.
So guess who sent me email today?
Yeah, sorry.
It was a nice email, at least. Don’t assume I always get off that easy.
It was the Beedies talking, I swear! It gives me the CRAZY HEAD!!!

Rob,
I have no idea what you’re talking about, but this post still made me laugh.
