Yet another worrying diabetes statistic

Diabetes is on the rise in Ghana.  6.3 percent of Ghanians between 20 and 70 are suffering from diabetes and another 12 percent of the same age group are in the pre-diabetes stage.  This information was disclosed at the launch of 2005 diabetes awareness month in Ashanthi.  Almost every week we keep hearing that diabetes is on the rise, from every part of the world.  This illustrates the magnitude of the spread of the disease.
